Funeral Celebrant
I design with the help of loved ones, family and friends a unique end of life ceremony.
There will be two meetings:
At the first we discuss the requirements and wishes and get to know each other. During this time, I find there are many questions asked by the family, we will endeavor to create a structure for the ceremony and answer all the questions along the way.
At the second meeting we will plan the ceremony, all the relevant scripts, readings, prayers and blessings, venues, coordination of family and friends to make this a seamless and unique ceremony. I find that these sessions are also very helpful in the grieving process.
Together we can plan and design a unique and meaningful end of life celebration for your loved one.
End of Life Doula
DOULA .... Greek word - to give service
A doula is a trained non-professional companion who assists and supports another through end of life matters. A doula may provide and care for physical, emotional, social and spiritual support to the client, partner, family and friends. The overall purpose of the doula in any context is for their client to feel safe, be informed and feel comfortable. The doula complements the role of the health professionals providing medical care.
Doulas have been around for thousands of years... often elders in a village who support people in death through recognising it as a natural and important part of life. In today's society it can be very overwhelming, confusing and challenging preparing for ones end of life. Some things that needs to be considered include Advanced Health Directives, wills, Power of Attorney, doctors and hospital appointments and funeral planning. The doula will assist and support any of these matters.
The doula is also an advocate for his or her client to receive the best possible care.
End of life doulas can be of great assistance at any stage of life or end of life, as death is inevitable - a doula can help you prepare.
